Understanding Indian Rummy Fundamentals
Indian Rummy is played with 2 standard decks of 52 cards each along with printed jokers. The objective is to arrange all 13 cards into valid melds comprising at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence.
What is a Pure Sequence?
A pure sequence consists of 3 or more consecutive cards belonging to the exact same suit without any joker substitution (e.g., 4♠, 5♠, 6♠).
What is an Impure Sequence?
An impure sequence is a run of consecutive cards of the same suit where one or more missing cards are substituted with a cut joker or printed joker.
